ISLAMABAD: According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has chosen to add 12 PML-N MNAs to his federal cabinet, while the PPP will get seven positions.

PM Shehbaz was sworn in as Prime Minister on April 11 after Imran Khan was deposed by a no-confidence motion, making him the first prime minister to be deposed democratically.

According to sources, Raja Pervez Ashraf is a candidate for speaker of the National Assembly, which is empty following Asad Qaiser's decision to resign late Saturday, while a JUI-F MNA might become deputy speaker, as Qasim Suri is also facing a no-confidence motion.

'It will be difficult for my party to stomach,' Bilawal said of his appointment as foreign minister.
Apart from the PML-N and PPP, the JUI-F will receive three ministries and a state minister role, while the MQM-P, BAP, and BNP-M would each receive two ministries. According to insiders, independent candidates are also expected to be given ministries.

Sindh will be governed by the MQM-P, Punjab by the PPP, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the JUI-F, and Balochistan by the BNP-M, according to reports.
